“To our extended Mikey's Pizza Family,

I'm proud to announce the new owners of Mikey's Pizza, Collin and Matisse💚.

Mikey could not have hand picked them better himself. In fact, he did, and taught them all he knew about "real good food". Collin and Matisse have been in the Mikey's family for almost a decade and were integral in getting us reopened after Mikey's death.

There is no one better to carry on his legacy and keep his spirit alive. We couldn't do this without the love and support that we've felt over the last 13 years from this community. We appreciate you and hope you show these guys the same love you've shown us.

In March of 2020 we announced with heavy hearts the passing of our beloved Mikey Larson.

On April 17th we announced our re-opening on 4/20 along with a donation of 42 pizzas at 4:20 from Heather Connor with Black Diamond Resort Realty. We also mentioned that YOU TOO could support Mikey’s Love for the Crested Butte Community. We could have never expected the outpouring of support that has come in since that day. From 4/20 and on we have been able to give away countless pizza and meals to those who needed it most. We really enjoyed the kids happy hour, which was so successful (thanks to generous donors) that it continued through the remainder of the school year!

When Mikey Larson and his wife Mary opened Mikey’s Pizza in 2007, they filled a niche by bringing a much-needed New York-style pizzeria to the people of Crested Butte.

At the end of a day spent biking, hiking or skiing, visitors to Mikey’s could quiet a rumbling belly with a slice the size of your head, all the while skipping the crowded sidewalks and tedious wait times that come with frequenting restaurants along Elk Avenue.
